Welcome to the site of Northumberland’s Voluntary and Community Sector Consortium.
Our aim is to provide a voice for the sector to secure a better deal for the huge variety of groups and organisations in the county. We all know that voluntary and community organisations make an enormous contribution to life throughout the county. Our ambition is to ensure that the sector continues to extend its valuable influence and role.
What is the VCS Consortium?
The Consortium is made up of a range of voluntary and community organisations which include both grassroot and support bodies. A variety of public agencies are also present as active observers. The idea is for each VCS member to reflect a particular perspective. That could be a specific group like older people, people with disabilities or children. Or it might be a theme like volunteering, health, sport or equality.
What's in it for us?
By working together in a more co-ordinated way, hundreds of voluntary and community groups in Northumberland are better placed to be:
- better connected
- better informed
- better recognised
